Wedgwood Swim Pool is a non-profit community organization with many of the needs and obligations of a small company. If you have particular skills and interests, there are volunteering opportunities in different areas of the pool’s operations and leadership.

Professional skills: We have a ton of skilled professionals within the membership, near neighbors and seniors, who can provide services that Wedgwood Pool would otherwise need to pay for, such as:

  • Attorneys who can help the board with contracts, liability concerns, WA nonprofit law, and general legal consulting
  • Construction, engineering, facilities management, maintenance, electrical, plumbing, and aquatic systems experts
  • Finance committee (budgeting and insurance)
  • Technology experts who can help with IT efforts
  • Gardening/landscaping
  • Commuity Outreach
  • Special Events (adult parties, cake bake, etc.)
  • Swim Team (you do not need to be a swim team parent)

Leadership/Board: Wedgwood is a business entity that is managed by the Wedgwood Pool Board of Directors. Each director is elected for a three-year term. This board meets one evening a month all year round to steer the financial, operational, and program needs of the pool. Although the board self-organizes into functions like membership, programming, and communication, this is fluid and the board tends to re-organize to meet the needs of the pool. If you are inspired by the pool community and want to have a role in making it better, please contact the nominating committee to explore becoming a board member!
